Market basket never contacted me regarding this issue.
I went to this store on June 20, bought several items and 3 4 packs of Center Cut Pork Chops. Furthermore, I put 2 packages in the freezer and left 1 in the refrigerator, so I could marinate them today, June 21. Before I opened them, I noticed they were all brown. I went back to the store to return them, the Customer Service Rep asked if I had the receipt, (who saves receipts), then she said I should have put them in the freezer and took them out today to defrost and then cook them, (the sell date was June 22).
She refused to refund my money, said they don't give store credits and I would need to shop now and buy something for around the same dollar amount as an exchange. I didn't have time to shop at that moment. I took back the item and threw it in the trash. I will never shop at ANY Market Basket again, will go to Shaw's in Plaistow, NH.
In addition, I own a Sober House and have 12 residents who each get $198/month in Food Stamps, ($2,369/month in loss sales), more since the Pandemic. I take them to Market Basket once a month, so they may shop and use their Food Stamps. Not ANYMORE, we will go to Shaw's, ALDI, Walmart, etc. Never again will I take them to a Market Basket or do any of my personal shopping at Market Basket.
The Witch who waited on me should be reprimanded or fired. She is a very unhappy, miserable person.

I went into your store on D.W. Highway between 5-6pm today and selected Cabasa applesauce and steak tips.
I planned on paying with my ebt card. My ebt card is defective. The swipe strip is messed up. Old.
And i have made an appointment to get a new ebt card but because of covid they arent allowing people to come in without an appointment. Not to mention they are only seeing people 65 or older.
And in order to get my new ebt card i made an appointment which is 3 months out. I was told i could enter the card number manually at any place that accepts EBT/SNAP or has a Quest logo by the ebt/snap office. Not to mention the GOVERNMENT website mass.gov/snap under the tab "who can use my ebt card".
It states that anyone in my household with or without physical card "AS LONG AS THEY CAN ENTER THE ACCOUNT INFORMATION AND HAVE SECURITY PIN #" then they to can use the account. And the ebt/snap benefits id card doesnt have my name or picture on it just an account #. And the manager at your store denied me service asking me grilling questions as if i was a liar and or thief scamming or stealing money off a random account because i didnt have the card in my hand. And asked me if my name was on it with a smile on his face/smirk.
And i answered idk. He then prodeeded to to say then how can we verify its your card? And i am complaining because the ebt snap website states otherwise. In fact the picture on the card where my face or pic would be place has a red check mark over a grey box.
And says in BIG RED LETTERS --VALID WITHOUT PHOTO-- so what was he gonna verify. And are you telling me that every single time a person comes through a line in your store a d use their debit or credit card that every cashier checks your STATE IDENTIFICATION just to make sure it matches your license and name?? Because i have been through your lines at checkout and in 25 years have never been carded for anything other than alcohol and cigarettes. Never in 25 years has anyone ever checked my licence to verify i am the person using my debit/credit card.
And my girlfriend offered me her ebt card and guess what it hasnt got a name on it. The number is 75% faded and only works when using a plastic bag over the magnetic strip. And always ends up manually entering the # and like her have done this at your store everytime ive shopped their for the past 2 years! And the girl has me enter my card # then asks me the last 4 digits.
I dont know if because i entered the card # without looking at the card but im excellent with math in my head quick and can remember long #s like it's no big deal. Not to mention after 2 years of doing this everytime i use the card u start to remember it. And i dont have to explain myself to you other than your manager at that store was a pompus *** and embarrassed me to know end infront of a lot of people bc he wanted to erragant and right! He obviously didnt know the law or rules behind the card or situation.
Which if he really didnt know this he easily could have said maturely u know im not positive how that works with ebt why dont i check with another manager and get the details and facts about the situation instead of just assuming he knew better and i was a thief or *** low life who steals ebt card money! My schedule is so tight between work and taking care of my grandmother btw which is whose card information i was gonna use and had already entered bc she cant get to a store. And not only did this guy screw up my schedule but caused there to be no dinner for my grandmother. We were both broke and relying on that ebt $.
And having to get to my next thing picking up her medicine before they closed the pharmacy. And did that happen? No because i needed to try to figure out how to prove i was who i say whether i had to use her account or mine DOESNT MATTER! So no medicine and its gonna be a real rough night.
No food other than condiments and koo-laid until tomorrow when i get paid and can even get some gas to get back to trying to freaking eat! Idk what is gonna be done but that man has caused me more trouble and hunger in the past hours than i can really put into words! Not to mention the embarrassment! Wow idk what can be done but something needs to be done about this person.
And maybe everyone needs to hear about your store and customer service. Maybe i can contact someone in the ebt office tomorrow and see what they can do. Im so frustrated with this i may even spend all night trying to understand how someone with all account information pin # a d offering to show u the account on his android with my name which u can only log into with a social security # and dob. I offered that and he smiked laughed rolled his cuff and started again telling me how if i were to use someone else credit card and i stopped him there.
ITS NOT A CREDIT CARD AND ANYONE CAN USE IT WITH SAID ACCOUNT INFO & PIN. Whether the physical card is present or not! I have an android app which allows me to use nfc from my phone to swipe any card i want with or with out a chip.
So if i would have had my phone on me and used my phone by touching the terminal to pay with my phone would they have asked me for identification??? NO.

I accidentally went down the wrong aisle. I forgot to check the arrows.
I usually am good with this. I was focusing on the pet aisle. At this particular time a disgruntled women came down the aisle shouting at me that I was going the wrong way. She let me know in a very rude and loud voice that I should pay attention to the arrows.
It was embarrassing. I apologized. Then a tall, male, older Market Basket worker agreed with her. He was walking right behind her and he told me to watch the arrows as well.
It was humiliating to have to apologize to two people who seemed more like bullies. I decided to turn around and go the right way.
When I got out of the aisle that rude lady was discussing how they were right to tell me off.
Seriously, I would never want to make someone feel so low for such a small thing. People need to be kinder.

User's recommendation: Remind people to be kind and patient. I never would speak to that to someone who accidentally went down the aisle with a red arrow. No one is perfect in this world. We all make mistakes.
